Not that I’m counting or anything . . . I will be spending two glorious weeks on Waikiki Beach in the middle of a frigid Minnesota winter so it’s hard not to be counting! I have already lined up two photography tours with Oahu Photography Tours – a Complete Island tour and the Friday Night.

The Galapagos Islands are located in the Pacific Ocean 600 miles west of Ecuador, which is on the western coast of South America. They are located right on the equator, but oddly, they are not tropical islands and it is not hot all year like you might expect (69 – 84 degrees). The big draw.

Lanesboro, Minnesota

Yesterday was a tour day. I took 48 people from the Twin Cities area on an all-day outing to Lanesboro, MN. Our morning stop was at Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center where we heard a presentation on eagles, hawks, and owls. A hawk and an owl were part of the presentation. It was very interesting,.

Harvest Fest in Stillwater

The Stillwater Harvest Fest drew a big crowd today. The weather was an awesome 82 degrees with sunny skies. It was one of the nicest fall days I remember here in Minnesota in October. The crowds gathered along the St. Croix River downtown to watch the Pumpkin Regatta – people racing hollowed out giant pumpkins down.

Why am I so Drawn to Islands?

The other day I was thinking about why I like Islands so much. Besides the fact that most of them are warm, tropical, and are filled with palm trees, which is very different from Minnesota, I think it has to do with bridges. Most islands are accessible by bridges and when I go over one.
