My love of travel started in the sixth grade when I visited the ocean for the first time. After that there was no looking back. Over the years I've traveled at every opportunity, and in 2009 I started working for Valley Tours in Stillwater, MN as a tour director. I have much experience traveling myself, leading groups, and travel/tour planning. My desire going forward is to help people to see the world - to travel to places they've only dreamed about!

Greetings from Hawaii! I got here dead-tired last night after an 8-hour flight from Minneapolis. I started the day with a brisk walk on Waikiki beach to hopefully shed some of the 2 ½ pounds I gained on the plane. I swear I just have to look at food to gain weight. It’s a beautiful.

If I had known there was such a thing as a portable, light-weight scale, I may never have gained weight on vacation before! Well, maybe a little . . .  I’ve always pictured scales as being cumbersome and way too heavy to even think about putting in my suitcase even though I’ve always wanted to, but.

Maintaining Weight While Traveling

As of this morning I am 4.9 pounds away from my goal weight. Over the last year and a few months, I’ve worked hard and have lost 24 pounds. But . . . my two-week trip to Hawaii (with a weekend tour immediately following) is coming up soon, and I don’t want to gain back.
