My day started at the Milwaukee Public Market. While not a large market, it was filled with a lot of quality stuff – fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, and seafood, jarred salsas and jams, and chocolates and desserts (see photo of the parfait that I had). From the Market I wandered through the Historic Third.

I made a stop for dinner in Madison, Wisconsin on the way out to Milwaukee. The Parthenon restaurant features authentic Greek gyros with lamb, tomatoes, onions, and a cucumber sauce. Very good and plenty filling (see photo – it was huge!). After dinner I wandered along State Street where the Madison Street Festival was going.

I’ve spent some time in the last couple of weeks enjoying my own back yard. It’s amazing how much of nature and wildlife you can actually observe in a city back yard. I guess you can see pretty unusual things right in your own neighborhood. I was out for a walk the other night and I came across a dog standing on a garage roof! The homeowner was not outside, but a neighbor appeared and I asked him if he thought his neighbor knew that their dog.
