Maintaining Weight on Vacation Update

Posted by

If you read my post on maintaining weight on vacation, you know that I was a bit concerned to be going to Hawaii for two weeks. I could have easily gained 10 pounds. But I made a commitment to eating well most of the time and exercising a lot – mainly walking on the beach, so not too tough to do! So the final verdict was up only 3.6 pounds! Having the travel scale with me helped a lot! I was able to check my weight each morning and (try) to adjust my meals and activities that day if I had gained. I ended up eating a lot of salads, but one of the nights I had a good meal – complete with dessert! – I gained two pounds, so the next day I walked 120 minutes and ate as light as I could. This got me back to where I was. So if you are concerned about gaining weight while traveling, I definitely recommend bringing a travel scale and incorporating exercise into your daily plans.

    Di,
I was exactly the same weight as I left! What a big surprise! It was a wonderful trip. Dan and I also went to see Pearl Harbor, which gave me alot of history and was very interesting.
