“Views From a Cruise”

I just finished reading “Views From a Cruise” by Fabienne Wolf. It’s about the 99-day world  cruise taken solo by the author. It caught my eye, because I too, would like to go on a world cruise some day.

I’ve taken many week-long cruises but I always wondered what it would be like to live on a ship for months. When I was 19 I wanted to get a job on a cruise ship . . . Ah, the path not chosen . . . But maybe life will give me a second chance – as a passenger and not a worker!

I wondered about seasickness on some of the long distance legs at sea, I wondered about gaining a ton of weight from all that food for three months, and I wondered about some of the cool distant lands one would get to explore. This book did a good job of answering those questions and more through the entries from the day of embarkation to the day of debarkation. It is full of specifics about all of the shore excursions the author took – one in each port, and also her thoughts as she made her way around the world. Definitely an interesting read!
