I have checked off many places on my travel bucket list in my 51 years, but have many more to go. Here is my short list:
- Hawaii
- Massachusetts (Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket)
- Maine
- Grand Canyon
- New York
- Galapagos Islands
- Italy (Isle of Capri, Positano, Venice)
- Maldives
- Australia
Number 10 would be my ultimate travel dream – a world cruise (heaven help the calories that would end up in my stomach!). And you may be thinking – “that must cost a mint!” It is a lot of money, but maybe not quite as much as you might think. And again, it is all in an individual’s priorities. I would, for instance, rather go on a world cruise than buy a brand new vehicle. And that’s about the price range we are talking – for an 111 day world cruise on Princess, booking the cheapest cabin (an inside, no view) it would cost approximately $21,000 per person (double occupancy) or $34,000 (single occupancy). So if you’re traveling alone, the most economical way to go is to find someone (with no ties to your finances!) to share a cabin.
Oh, the places you would go! (Dr. Seuss, I believe).
