Lanesboro, Minnesota

Yesterday was a tour day. I took 48 people from the Twin Cities area on an all-day outing to Lanesboro, MN.

Our morning stop was at Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center where we heard a presentation on eagles, hawks, and owls. A hawk and an owl were part of the presentation. It was very interesting, the group enjoyed it, and were able to ask any questions they had about these raptors.

Lunch was at The Pedal Pusher Café in downtown Lanesboro – a charming restaurant with friendly staff – with time afterwards to wander around town.

Lanesboro is well known for its bike trails that wind along the Root River. The fall color was very pretty in the Lanesboro area, as well as along “The River Road”(Hwy 61).

An afternoon stop at Pepin Heights Apple Orchard completed our day. It had turned windy and with a chill in the air, the hot apple cider and warm apple turnover they had ready for our group was much enjoyed.
