A Bit of Belgium in Bayport

I tried a new restaurant in Bayport, MN this morning for breakfast – Letoile Du Nord (it means the North Star). It was excellent. I had the Savory Eggs Benedict – ham, tomato kasundi, kale, arugula, potatoes and hollandaise, served on a savory waffle. Their menu is quite different and I had never had Belgian food before (maybe Belgian waffles), so I decided to give it try and hoped I wasn’t still too hungry when I left . . .

Everything is made from scratch each day with the freshest ingredients and it was all very good. I might have had room for a blueberry scone, but I passed on it this time. I don’t mind paying more for an excellent meal from time to time, but the cost of this restaurant will prohibit me from making it a regular Saturday morning stop. The bill was $24.30 (including tax and tip) for eggs benedict with potatoes and a glass of orange juice . . .
