Tour Your Own Home Town

How often do we take for granted our own home town? I live in a very lovely river town, but am always thinking about getting away. I guess after many decades in the same place that’s only natural.

While doing research for a “home town” travel article, I came across a bunch of things that would be fun to do right here in Stillwater.

Kari’s Create & Paint – I used to love any kind of art when I was a kid – I always brought back flat rocks to paint from summer trips to the North Shore. I haven’t painted anything in years, but would love to give it a shot again.

Foodies on Foot – I love trying new foods, but don’t often go out to eat in downtown Stillwater. What a perfect way to taste a little of this and a little of that . . .

Segway Tours – I wonder if you need a sense of balance for these things, or if they just go – and stay upright?! It sounds fun, and they have a tour on the new bike trail at the north end of town (former railroad tracks) that meets up with the Gateway trail going west.

So when vacation time limits me to my own home town, I just may give these activities a try. Stay tuned for the results!
