I made a stop for dinner in Madison, Wisconsin on the way out to Milwaukee. The Parthenon restaurant features authentic Greek gyros with lamb, tomatoes, onions, and a cucumber sauce. Very good and plenty filling (see photo – it was huge!). After dinner I wandered along State Street where the Madison Street Festival was going on.

After checking in to the hotel in Milwaukee I went down to the waterfront. It was a 95 degree day in the Twin Cities and all the way out to Milwaukee, but at the waterfront by lake Michigan the temperature dropped almost 20 degrees. There’s a great waterfront park and beach that seems to go on for miles. From what I’ve seen so far it looks like a great city for activity.

Tomorrow will be a busy day trying to cram as much as possible in and maybe spend a little time at the beach.
