Today started off cloudy and foggy, but not terribly cold. I had crab cake eggs benedict at The Pie Place restaurant for breakfast. It was one of the best meals I’ve had for breakfast – totally worth the drive all the way up here. From there I did some agate hunting at Paradise Beach –.

My day started at the Milwaukee Public Market. While not a large market, it was filled with a lot of quality stuff – fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, and seafood, jarred salsas and jams, and chocolates and desserts (see photo of the parfait that I had). From the Market I wandered through the Historic Third.

I’ve spent some time in the last couple of weeks enjoying my own back yard. It’s amazing how much of nature and wildlife you can actually observe in a city back yard. Minnesota Landscape Arboretum

I played hooky on Tuesday and visited the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. Located in Chaska, it features 1,137 acres of natural areas, public gardens, and more than 5,000 plant species. The day was hot – almost 90 – and the sun was out in full force. I hiked all over the place taking photos and admiring.
