One of my favorite things to do in the summer is go to Minneapolis to the food trucks for lunch. Today I had my sights on The Smack Shack truck for a lobster roll. Located in the Marquette Avenue area, a dozen or more food trucks park during lunch time and sell food. New legislation.

Today started off cloudy and foggy, but not terribly cold. I had crab cake eggs benedict at The Pie Place restaurant for breakfast. It was one of the best meals I’ve had for breakfast – totally worth the drive all the way up here. From there I did some agate hunting at Paradise Beach –.

I started out of the Twin Cities in shorts, t-shirt, and flip flops, but by the time I got to Duluth for a picnic lunch by the lake, I was in Jeans and sweatshirt. After a really quick, chilly lunch at a park by Lake Superior, I was heading to Grand Marais. A little bit north.

Afton Strawberry Festival

I enjoyed a couple hours this afternoon at the Afton Strawberry Festival. In the park I wandered from vendor to vendor looking at homemade jams and salsa, photography, crafts, jewelry, and much more. Today was a tour day with Valley Tours. I took 32 people on a lunch cruise on the Mississippi River, and then to a show on the Minnesota Centennial Showboat – a docked paddlewheeler theatre.
