Treasure Island, Florida Day 1

Day one of my road trip to Treasure Island, Florida – near St. Petersburg – was a good one! An easy drive from Fort Myers, and a beautiful day! I left the 90 degree humid weather in Fort Myers, and only a couple hours north, found low 80’s, sunshine, and no humidity. I was starting.

Doc Ford’s in Fort Myers Beach

Doc Ford’s Rum Bar and Grill is located water side just before the Matanzas Pass Bridge which takes you to Fort Myers Beach (Estero Island), Florida. I stopped in for an appetizer and some conch chowder recently and was treated with excellent service, a beautiful view, and some really good food. New York Times best.

Ride the Rails Tour to Duluth

I took a group of people on a tour to Duluth, MN this week. Our first stop was a ride on an historic train on the scenic St. Louis River – very peaceful and quiet. The railroad crew are all volunteers and did a great job! www.ismrr.org We had lunch at Grandma’s Restaurant in Canal.
