Bali Day 7

I started my day, as usual, with way too much breakfast at the buffet. Hard to resist, it’s so good. They have fresh squeezed juice in any combination you want. I’ve been getting pineapple and orange. After eating too much I went on my morning walk on the beach. Today, though, I walked all the way down to what I thought would be close to the airport – it’s pretty close – but when I got to the end, there were steps up to the street and then back down to the beach and I would have had to walk a bit farther to get all the way to the airport. As it was, it took an hour which is nice walk. In the afternoons I’ve been watching the planes come in – every five minutes or so another plane lands.

After a shower, I headed out the other way on the street to get a massage at one of the offsite places. A one hour massage cost 95,000 Rupiah – $7.00 USD! And it was every bit as good as the $80.00 one back home.

The afternoon was lazy with another walk on the beach late this afternoon. I watched one of the local dogs running through the surf and then wiggling around on the sand belly up. What a life they have. All the animals are free here. No leashes on the dogs, chickens and roosters roaming around, and this afternoon I saw some cows grazing in the grass just past the hotel grounds, wondering what was keeping them from roaming down the beach.

I also added another ocean to my list of those I have swam in. The waves have been pretty big so far, but today they weren’t bad so I went in. I’m trying to strike a balance between being adventurous and getting back home in the same (physical) condition I left in!
