Sky Wheel

Yesterday afternoon I went up on the Sky Wheel on the boardwalk here in Myrtle Beach. It’s a huge ferris wheel with enclosed gondola-type cars. At the top you’re 200 feet in the air – so quite a view of the Grand Strand! Then junk food for dinner while I wandered on the boardwalk..

Sullivan’s Island and Isle of Palms

I drove out to Sullivan’s Island and Isle of Palms today on my way north to Myrtle Beach. Sullivan’s Island is where Dorthea Benton Frank’s books Sullivan’s Island and Return to Sullivan’s Island are set. And the last book setting that I will be visiting this trip is Isle of Palms where her book The Isle of Palms is.

Shem Creek Inn

I will be leaving the Shem Creek Inn today and heading back up to Myrtle Beach for my last two nights. I really love the Shem Creek Inn – nice rooms, a great pool, and of course it over looks the creek. It’s in a perfect, central location for getting to Charleston and also out.
