Mississippi River

Today was a tour day with Valley Tours. I took 32 people on a lunch cruise on the Mississippi River, and then to a show on the Minnesota Centennial Showboat – a docked paddlewheeler theatre. A Bit of Belgium in Bayport

I tried a new restaurant in Bayport, MN this morning for breakfast – Letoile Du Nord (it means the North Star). It was excellent. I had the Savory Eggs Benedict – ham, tomato kasundi, kale, arugula, potatoes and hollandaise, served on a savory waffle. Their menu is quite different and I had never had Belgian.

Minnesota Landscape Arboretum

I played hooky on Tuesday and visited the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. Located in Chaska, it features 1,137 acres of natural areas, public gardens, and more than 5,000 plant species. The day was hot – almost 90 – and the sun was out in full force. I hiked all over the place taking photos and admiring.
